Blessing of the Water & Mother Earth

Alberto Mejia (a runner from the 2012 Peace & Dignity journeys) returned from his seven month ceremonial running and lead a prayer/blessing for the water and Mother Earth.

During the prayer ceremony, he added sacred water to the Colorado river. The sacred water was collected & mixed from native lands from Alaska to Argentina.

The event was organized by Marcos de Leon, president of East Town Lake Citizens Neighborhood Association. The neighborhood association has worked on range of issues including the removal of the Holly Street Power Plant and 'boat races' which used to take place during Aqua Festival.
